    That Green Light On The Transformer Has NOTHING Whatsoever To Do With The Functioning Of The U-V Bulb. I Know That For A Fact Because That Green Light Comes On When The Transformer Is Plugged In...EVEN If The U-V Light Itself IS NOT Plugged Into The Transformer. At Best, All That Green Light Signifies Is That The Transformer Is Plugged In...But It Has NOTHING To Do With How The U-V Light Is Functioning...Or Even If The U-V Light Is Functioning At All. Fluval Needs To Update Their Description Of The Purpose Of That Green Light With Some Accurate...And Honest...Information.

    I wonder what caused your crypto parva stop growing, your substrate seems ideal I am thinking maybe the light is not too strong? I've been growing crypto parva in my tank under high light and co2 so maybe crypto parva is not a low demanding type of crypto? Hopefully with the new substrate and new plants they improve, they are definitely slow growers.

    Very nice! I’m about to finish year 3 with my Mega Flex! Been wanting to replace the substrate and redo the foliage as well. I’ve added a second light bar and have a Siesta programed. I almost removed the back filter chamber and considered a HOB, but haven’t yet.

      I thought about removing it too. Maybe add a canister I don’t like hobs much. But I like being able to service it easily. And being able to swap one sponge a a time is nice.

I’m not able to get water changes done every week right now so hoping this filter with added media will help me keep the tank healthy in between tank maintenance.

      @@pecktec I'm hoping I've used the right name now 😂 from what I understand you do your hardscape and substrate, flood it, leave it for a month with filtration running, empty, plant and refill. I think the idea is to reduce those algae/diatoms impacting plants early in a tank's life cycle.

    In one of your other vids you called it hygro pinnatifida as well, but I don't think that's what it is! I have some in my tank and it's just a very different plant. I think you have a different hygro species. Hopefully they recover and we can get a good look at it.

    Interesting idea with the anubias chandelier. Curious to see if having it so close to the light will result in a lot of algae or anubias burn. I’ve never been able to get away with that much direct light on anubias without causing major problems. You said the plant in the back was hygrophila pinnatifida but it looked a lot more like emmersed grown Bolbitis heudelotii. Larger leaves are going to slowly melt but it should rebound in a few months with all that CO2.

    • @pecktec
      @pecktec 11 дней назад

      It’s lower than the ones in the mega flex but it’s definitely a possibility.

    Not sure if you know, but you have to turn it off at night. Once I figured that out, I get way more c02 out of the fluval bio co2 as it builds up at night while it is closed. I have the same glass tester and it stays a faint blue green no matter how high I turn it or my circulation.

    1. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure plants only consume CO2 when science is happening with the lights on. So when the lights are off your CO2 is just being wasted. Use more buy more, that's marketing. 2. I wouldn't trust their yeast and mystery tablet but if you use your own yeast, you got kilju aka prison hooch. It's probably God-awful but will work in a pinch. 😂😂😂

    • @pecktec
      @pecktec 11 дней назад

      I thought it best to try it as instructed at first. The water become more and more saturated as the night goes on. So it gets used as soon as light appears. Not necessarily waisted. But I do prefer them on a timer for sure.

    I had to quit the hobby recently for a few different reasons, but my next tank, when I'm able, will most likely be full of these. I'd let the tank mature with corys and honey guaramis for at least 6 months and let the plants have an opportunity to fill out. I prefer frogbit over duckweed though for floaters

    If anyone could answer this, I would surely appreciate it! Is there any reason not to remove the second partition and have the whole bottom full of seachem matrix? then maybe a Purigen on top of the bio media and finally some filter floss around the return pump? In other words does the divider over by the heater actually direct the flow in an important way or can I just do away with it? Also, is this something I could put on a shelf just above my (less than 12" above the water line) nano tank? That would be awesome..... just not sure if it would work! TY in advance for your help!!!! <3
